KMCAPO MISSION STATEMENT
The KMCAPO is the Parent Organization of the KMC Girls Artistic Gymnastics Team. The KMCAPO is a non-profit organization designated by the IRS as a 501c(3) organization. The primary purpose of the KMCAPO is to collect and disburse money required for the competitive activities of the KMC Girls Artistic Gymnastics Team and to conduct meets involving its members under the sanction of the USAG or other sanctioning bodies.
The KMCAPO is also responsible for promoting the sport of gymnastics to the community by modeling good sportsmanship, by participating in community service and by providing support for further competition as far as the talents of the gymnast will permit.
The KMCAPO is managed by the parents and guardians who are financially responsible for each gymnast. Approximately 40 competitive female artistic gymnasts train at Karen Myers and Company, Inc. Dance and Gymnastics in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
The KMCAPO is dedicated to the gymnasts and the community. Our major activities include:
• Assist the financial needs of the competitive gymnasts
Gymnastics is a very expensive sport and can be financially difficult for families. Our gymnasts have a great deal of talent and our goal is to provide the financial support evenly among all our gymnasts.
• Organize and manage competitive meets
To create a venue where all gymnasts can display their talents, the KMCAPO organizes and manages about 2-3 home meets per season. These meets provide an opportunity for the gymnasts to develop friendships and gain valuable competition experience in their home gym. Each meet encourages teamwork and allows the gymnasts to exhibit their talents and build confidence. These meets are open to the public.
• Assist in Community Service
The KMCAPO promotes gymnastics within the community by performing at various functions. On occasion, the gymnasts participate in local parades, perform at exhibitions and raise money for local charities.
